George Washington Salad
Almost Homemade Banana Cake

One box white cake mix
2 overripe mashed bananas
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 vegetable oil or 1 stick of melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Blend cake all ingredients on medium for 2 minutes or so. Pour batter in 9 x 13 greased cake dish.
Bake 35 - 38 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Cookies (Our family recipe)

Ingredients
2 sticks butter softened
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking soda mixed with 2 tablespoons hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Preheat oven 375 degrees.
Blend butter and brown sugar. Add in eggs and beat until blended. Mix in the baking soda mixture and vanilla. Slowly blend in the flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by heaping teaspoon full on greased cookie sheet. (batter will be round like a small meatball). Bake for 10 - 15 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown. Do not over bake. ( if your oven bakes quicker than normal, bake at 350 degrees)

Candied Almonds

2 cups of almonds
2 egg whites
1 teaspoons water
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven 250 degrees. Beat egg whites and water until frothy. Pour on almonds to coat well. Blend the sugars, salt, and cinnamon. Mix into the almonds. On a greased cookie sheet, spread coated almonds in a single layer. Bake for 1 hour. However, every 20 minutes, flip the almonds over with a spatula. Cool completely. Store in covered container.
